Norquist compares Sen. Schumer’s tax-dodger bill to the Nazis, communists – The Hill’s On The Money

Norquist, the president of Americans for Tax Reform, said the targeting people that turn in their passports reminded him of regimes that had driven people out of the country, only to confiscate their wealth at the door.

Count among other things driving people away the following:  class warfare politics, nanny state, choking regulation, occupational licensing, eminent domain abuse, civil asset seizures, wealth redistribution and confiscation, taxation of worldwide income, poor travel experiences dealing with security agencies.  Being considered a tax mule – in addition to the taxes themselves – is also very hard to take.  It is difficult to accept sometimes how unethical our fellow citizens can be in engaging in class warfare politics and playing on some of the greatest of human weaknesses – envy and greed.  And, no, it is not the 1% who are greedy; the greedy are those clamoring for the state to seize more wealth of any minority including those that have wealth.  The republic degraded.  Try spending less than you take in and keeping the accumulated savings.  That’s wealth.

Regarding the first paragraph of this article from The Hill, which takes the statist message we’d note:  It is not tax evasion to sever the ties to your country in order to no longer remit taxes to it.  It is voting with your feet.
