Doug: To each his own. But that brings me to a whole other reason why the Olympics as they are today should be abolished. Where does a broke government, like the one in the UK, get off spending some $30 billion putting on a sporting event thats got no chance of breaking even? Its unethical in the extreme for over-indebted entities to spend money they dont have on events they dont need, only to stroke the egos of the politicians and bamboozle voters, while the economy continues deteriorating under the dead weight of their hands.
Its shameful that people who may have zero interest in a circus are forced to pay for it.
