Astonishingly despicable.  They take voters for rubes, apparently correctly.

But this display of conspicuous conscientiousness comes after a dishonest and despicable preface:

“I was one of the 63 House Democrats who lost their seat in the epic 2010 election that was fueled by the Tea Party and their angst against Obamacare. I was one of those members yelled at in town halls and who received death threats and watched on TV when my colleague was shot in the head in January 2011, only months after she voted for the health care law.”

As even the liberal Politico.com acknowledges, Murphy’s propter hoc implication is “at odds with the story of gunman Jared Loughner, whose deadly rampage in January 2011 in Tucson, Ariz., was never found to have been motivated by a partisan political agenda.”

And Murphy’s dishonest use of Giffords is not limited to arguing a political cause. We learned of it when a reader forwarded us a fundraising email he’d received from the Center for American Progress Action Fund, a left-wing outfit headed by onetime Clinton chief of staff John Podesta, whose content was substantively identical to that of the MSNBC piece.
