If you are the host, this may not be good news. It is news that may be applicable only to your children or grandchildren. If you have only a short-term outlook, parasites constitute a major threat to your well-being. But if you have a longer-term outlook, you can be confident that the parasites are going to die when the host dies. There will be new hosts, but the newer hosts will be inoculated against the old parasites. Nobody is preaching Marxian Communism anymore. Nobody uses the term “Communism” anymore. They do not use the term “socialism” anymore. They have adopted the old standbys, “progressive” and “economic democracy.”

When people are forced by political events to change the name of their movement, they are in big, big trouble. It is a sign of a serious setback. Communism and socialism have experienced severe setbacks. It is not 1974 anymore.
