Anybody got any ideas how all those houses got in brush fire zones? It’s positively a mystery but not really. It was a stupidly conceived and stupidly named law that turned the concept of insurance on its head. California somehow got the stupidist government actors. The FAIR plan was created in 1968 amid a decade of riots and brush fires that led people in California to lose coverage for reasons beyond their control. It’s an insurance pool for high-risk policies that counts every insurer in California as a member.
